Honor Roll
At the end of each trimester, academic awards will be distributed. The purpose of these awards is to recognize and congratulate those students who have earned excellent grades and evidenced cooperation and good personal growth. The awards and the criteria are as follows:

Grades 5-8
Principal’s List: 95–100% overall average with no grade less than 90%
First Honors: 90–94% overall average with no grade less than 85%
Second Honors: 85–89% overall average with no grade less than 80%

Grades 1-4
Principal’s List: A+ overall average with no grade less than A
First Honors: A overall average with no grade less than B+
Second Honors: B+ overall average with no grade less than B

Honorable Mention (Effort): No failures, works to fullest potential, good conduct (1st-8th)

For all honors, a student must earn 3’s or 4’s in all subject area progress skills and personal growth. Students who are late three or more times within a trimester will not qualify for honors. Each trimester an assembly will be planned to present and recognize those students who have earned honor roll status. Parents will be informed and are encouraged to attend to celebrate the student’s accomplishment.

VIRTUS Training
VIRTUS OnlineOnly VIRTUS-trained parents/guardians can volunteer for class trips, events, etc. See below for instructions on how to register for a VIRTUS training session. Once you have completed the session, please submit a copy of your certificate to the office.

1. Visit virtus.org
2. Click “Registration” in the left sidebar
3. Click “View a list of sessions”
4. Select “Brooklyn, NY (Diocese)” from the dropdown menu and click “Select”
5. Once you find an upcoming session that works for you click “Start Registration” at the top of the page and create a User ID and Password
6. You will have the option to select the training session you would like to attend

High-school-aged employees or volunteers have the choice of attending a VIRTUS workshop or completing the online teen training course, Shield the Vulnerable. More information is available on dioceseofbrooklyn.org.
